2022 gets off to a flying start for Apple. The American firm has just reached a new historic level that had narrowly escaped it last year.

The Apple brand became the first company to cross $ 3 trillion in market capitalization.

Apple reaches $ 3 trillion in capitalization

It’s done ! Three weeks after having come close to this new world record, Apple reached the symbolic threshold of 3 trillion dollars in capitalization at the beginning of the year, and this, from the first session of 2022 on Wall Street. A higher value than the entire CAC 40, estimated at 2,700 billion. This first in stock market history was only short-lived, however, as the stock lost some of its value a few seconds later.

This stock market conquest was led by Tim Cook, who made Apple the most profitable and most valuable company in the world. After the departure of the iconic Steve Jobs in 2011, the Apple-based firm had a capitalization of $ 345 billion. A value that has almost been duplicated 10 years later, reaching 2,000 billion in August 2020. This growth has been greatly accelerated by the success of the iPhone and the company’s services, but also by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Behind Apple, the other tech giants are struggling to keep up with this frantic pace. At the closest, Microsoft weighs “only” 2,500 billion dollars on the stock market, followed by Google with its 1,920 billion, and by Amazon with 1,730 billion.
