Between the potential price increase of the iPhone 15 and a production revised downwards, let’s take stock of the situation of future iPhones.

While Apple would secretly prepare six new iPhones for the start of the school year, the famous Californian brand could review its production plans.

Several million fewer iPhone 15s than expected at the start of the next school year?

Just yesterday, the performance of the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max were revealed through a few leaks. We now know a little more about what the A17 Bionic chip has in store for us, whether in terms of speed, temperature or even energy consumption. At the same time, we also learned that the iPhone 16 should materialize a new course in terms of camera, and especially with regard to their ultra wide-angle. A week strongly placed under the sign of Apple news. And guess what? It’s obviously not over yet.

In a note sent to investors, analyst Jeff Pu mentioned that Apple will produce 77 million iPhone 15s by the end of the year, against 83 million initially planned. This 7.2% drop in production (about 6 million fewer devices) is due to the various problems encountered by suppliers to obtain some of their components in the quantity requested by the Cupertino company, we learn. Phone Arena. The affected parts would more specifically be Sony’s camera sensors, the titanium chassis of the high-end variants and the new screens with thinner edges.

Potentially more expensive iPhones: will consumers be there?

In Jeff Pu’s note, he also mentioned another reason that would justify a lower production for the iPhone 15. And this reason would be directly related to the potential price increase for the 15 Pro and 15 Pro models Max. A tariff of 100 to 200 additional dollars could then somewhat slow down demand, explains the analyst. The announcement of a price increase for an already very expensive device never sends a very positive signal to consumers.

If the price of the iPhone 14 has undergone a significant increase in Europe last year, in particular due to inflation, it is still important to point out that prices have stabilized in the United States since the marketing of the iPhone X in 2017. This would therefore be the first time in six years that Apple smartphones would be hit hard by an increase in their prices across the Atlantic. It will now be necessary to observe if this will really prevent fans of the brand from being bitten by the apple…

Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max

  • Dynamic Island
  • Overall performance
  • Screen quality

Tim Cook usually concludes his presentation of a new iPhone by stating that it is the best ever. He’s absolutely right when he talks about the brilliant iPhone 14 Pro Max in so many ways. We appreciate the quality of its screen, the phenomenal computing power of the SoC A16 Bionic, the increased autonomy, and above all, the improvement of the photo and video parts, already powerful on the iPhone 13 Pro Max.

Dynamic Island is a great way to camouflage the hideous notch that sits on iPhone screens…and even make it acceptable. In the end, this gadget is more useful than futile, and we quickly appreciate its presence.

There remain the annoying points, such as the absence of an electrical adapter, the slow charging of the battery and, of course, the price. To afford the “best iPhone ever designed”, you will have to pay at least 1,479 euros for the 128 GB version, an increase of 220 euros compared to the 13 Pro Max. The 256 GB, 512 GB and 1 TB versions are offered at 1,609, 1,869 and 2,129 euros respectively, which are increases of 230, 260 and 290 euros compared to the iPhone 13 Pro Max of the same capacity.

The iPhone 14 Pro Max is undoubtedly a great product. But its price becomes a deterrent for most potential buyers. In its 1 TB version, it crosses the 2,000 euro mark, like Samsung and its Galaxy Z Fold 4 (2,159 euros). After all, if buyers are ready to pay such sums, manufacturers would be wrong to deprive themselves of it…
