The big Apple event on September 7, 2022 is awaited with great excitement. The iPhone 14 is considered a surefire announcement, but what else to expect apart from that? Thanks to our forecast, you get a compact overview. However, if you don’t want to spoil the surprise, you shouldn’t read any further.
As a reminder, Apple’s event is themed “Far out.”, which means “far out” and could include an allusion to various features of the future iPhone 14. The live stream starts at 7 p.m. sharp on Wednesday, September 7th. Apple itself speaks of a live event, at least parts of the event could actually be broadcast live again for the first time since 2019. But for the most part Apple will have pre-recorded the material. But what is there to see anyway?
Apple event: iPhone 14 in focus
The focus is almost certainly on the iPhone 14. Four models can be expected:
- iPhone 14 (6.1 inch)
- iPhone 14 Max (6.7 inch)
- iPhone 14 Pro (6.1 inch)
- iPhone 14 Pro Max (6.7 inch)
A There will no longer be a successor to the iPhone 13 mini, instead Apple tries to catch customers at the other end of the size spectrum and presents a more voluminous variant of the standard model. Technically, not much has changed in the two entry-level models, because Apple, for example, only uses a slightly modified version of the already known A15 chip and a little more RAM.

However, we will only get the new Apple A16 in the Pro models. Just like improved cameras (48 megapixels, better ultra wide angle) or an always-on display. On the other hand, various other features are not to be expected – we reported.
Apple Watch with big surprise
The Apple Watch Series 8 is also more conservative. Nothing to report on the health front except for a temperature sensor. The design also remains the same, the chip (S8) is only minimally modified compared to its predecessor. Much more exciting is the XL model of the Apple Watch 8, which will probably be launched as the Apple Watch Pro.
A A larger and, above all, flat display (1.99 inches) could ultimately produce a new design language and the robust material (titanium) appeal to a corresponding clientele. Apple will probably present the XL watch as a surprise at the end of the event – the little candy was always called “One more thing” at the end. The price of the smartwatch could also be surprising, because 1,000 euros or more is absolutely within the realm of possibility.
If you don’t want to invest that much money, you should opt for the new Apple Watch SE interested. It didn’t get a successor last year, but now in autumn 2022. Little has changed in the concept: known technology with slightly fewer health features at a reasonable price.

iOS 16, AirPods Pro and the rest
The announcement of the release date for iOS 16 is also considered certain. As usual, the major iPhone update will be made available a few days before the new cell phones go on sale. The same also applies to watchOS 9 for the Apple Watch.
However, users still have to wait for iPadOS 16.1 and macOS Ventura. It will probably be in October. So nobody should expect new iPads and Macs, because Apple won’t be showing them at another event until next month at the earliest.
On the other hand, as a little extra, there could be the second-gen AirPods Pro at the September event. They have been expected for months and should have been completed long ago. They are not set, but the hope of a performance is quite justified. On the other hand, nobody should count on additional hardware. Now is not the time for that.
