Apple has found the solution to warn you that your AirPods are counterfeit

The manufacturer has implemented a new mechanism to warn unfortunate buyers at the first connection to theiPhone.

AirPods are the most popular wireless headphones in the world today and many are looking to ride on their success.

AirPods are now a common name and smart guys have understood it

Like Frigidaire, Karcher or Scotch, the AirPods brand has become a common name in the minds of the general public to designate all true wireless headphones coming out on the market.

A few companies have sniffed out the good stuff and are offering counterfeit AirPods on various merchant sites. These almost look exactly like headphones produced by Apple, both in terms of design and functionality, but once worn, they do not offer the same level of audio quality or the user experience designed by the Californian brand.

We no longer count the number of customers being taken in by these products and Apple seems to have had more than enough of its reputation being tarnished by malicious people who use its brand and its popularity to make money.

iOS 16 will identify counterfeit AirPods and notify the user with a pairing notification

With iOS 16, the next major update to the iPhone operating system, the American brand is going on the offensive by offering a small, very simple automatic system that will notify consumers if the AirPods being paired are in makes counterfeit headphones.

Once connected via the Bluetooth connection, a message will appear on the screen of the smartphone to warn of the risks associated with the use of these headphones. A small “Learn more” button will link to a support page that will detail the procedure for identifying your AirPods. A “Do not connect” option will also be available to prevent these headphones from connecting to iOS.

Apple assures that this device will only work on counterfeit headphones that try to imitate the connection protocol implemented by the brand with its AirPods. It will not work on headphones and earphones from third-party manufacturers.
