You absolutely need a computer and iTunes – a downgrade without a PC is not possible.
In addition, you only have a short window of time to downgrade. Because iOS versions can only be installed as long as Apple signs them. If this is no longer the case, you will receive an error message during installation. The previous version is usually signed for several weeks after an update, but rarely for longer. In the following lines we will show you step-by-step how the iOS downgrade works on the iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.

Before you can start resetting your firmware, you must first download the appropriate iOS version onto your PC. Also make sure that you have the latest iTunes version installed on your computer.

Now connect your device to the PC via cable and then open iTunes. Switch to the device view and click on the “Restore iPhone/iPad/iPod” button while holding down the Shift key (Windows) or Alt key (Mac).

Then navigate to the previously downloaded IPSW data and confirm with a double click. Finally, the process is confirmed by clicking on “Restore”.
As part of the downgrade, the device will automatically restart. Under no circumstances should you disconnect it from the computer during this process.
