Apple: the mysterious Formula 1 film with Brad Pitt finally has a release date

Prepare to be totally immersed in the world of Formula 1 with Apple’s new film directed by Joseph Kosinski (Top Gun: Maverick). The Apple company has just announced that it will be released in theaters on June 25, 2025 in partnership with Warner Bros. Pictures and is produced by Apple Original Films, Jerry Bruckheimer Films, Plan B Entertainment and even F1 world champion Lewis Hamilton.

At the heart of the races

We know very little about the plot of this film, which doesn’t even have an official title yet, but we do know its cast. Brad Pitt (Bullet Train) is headlining and plays a former driver who returns to the Formula 1 circuits. He plays opposite Damson Idris (Snowfall), who plays his teammate within the fictional APXGP team.

According to details communicated by Apple, the feature film was filmed during Grands Prix, during which the APXGP team actually faced the titans of Formula 1.

During filming, Pitt had also given some information about the synopsis of the film, explaining that he plays an F1 driver who suffered a terrible accident in the 1990s and who turned to other types of racing because of the following.

“One of his friends, played by Javier Bardem, is the head of a team and calls him to help his team which is at the bottom of the rankings but has a phenomenal young driver, played by Damson Idris”Pitt said to Sky Sports in 2023.

The cast of this film written by Ehren Kruger (Top Gun: Maverick) is also composed of Kerry Condon (The Banshees of Inisherin), Javier Bardem (Dune: part two), Tobias Menzies (Manhunt), Sarah Niles (Ted Lasso), Kim Bodnia (Killing Eve) and Samson Kayo (Our Flag Means Death).

Distributed by Warner Bros., the film will be offered in theaters and IMAX. Its promotion is already focusing on the immersive side of its production and its racing sequences. The film was indeed put together in collaboration with Formula 1 and the entire F1 community, including the ten teams and their drivers, the FIA ​​and the race organizers.

While waiting to see the first images, F1 fans can already mark the release of the film on their calendar: June 25, 2025.
