In a context where the streaming industry is tightening its belt, we would not necessarily have bet on a return of the ambitious and expensive series Foundation at the house of Apple TV+. Well, we’re glad we weren’t right: the science fiction show will return for a season 3.
Deemed impossible to adapt by many readers of Isaac Asimov’s writings, the saga Foundation However, it is continuing its journey at Apple TV+. Without further details on the broadcast date or casting, Apple has just formalized the start of a third season. There is no doubt that it will benefit from the same visual and narrative richness that has made this adaptation successful so far. It’s also not too risky to put a little piece on the returns of Lee Pace, Jared Harris, Lou Llobell or even Leah Harvey in front of the camera.
A season 3 centered on the Mule
The critics (and the editorial staff) seem to have been more convinced by season 2 of Foundation broadcast this summer. Better paced, clearer and simply more pleasant to follow, the series was able to take advantage of its sometimes heavy set-up in the first season to develop intelligently in season 2. Asimov fans, however, will perhaps have things to to repeat (or to salute?) as it takes liberties with the original material.

Always more sci-fi on the small screen
In addition to Foundationin its science fiction section remember that Apple TV + has also recently offered a season 4 to For All Mankinda season 2 to Invasionseries Monarch: Legacy of Monsters and Silo will return for a season 2. On the competition side, the adaptation of the complex literary saga The Three-Body Problem headed by the creators of Game Of Thronesis specially monitored at Netflix and should come into direct collision with Foundation.
