How much does Apple TV+ cost? Are there cheap offers for the streaming service or a free trial month? We answer these questions for you in our overview.

Apple TV+ launched in over 100 countries in November 2019. Apple’s streaming service only offers you its own productions and has a smaller offering compared to Netflix, Disney+ and Co. Nevertheless, there are some gems in the program such as “Ted Lasso” with Jason Sudeikis and “The Morning Show” with Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon.

Apple TV+: Costs in Germany
In terms of costs, the Apple streaming service was for a long time at the affordable end of the range of video streaming services at 4.99 euros per month. But first the price increase came in October 2022 to 6.99 euros, then the second increase followed exactly a year later in October 2023 to a full 9.99 euros. Apple TV+ is therefore in the middle range when it comes to prices on the streaming market. In comparison, the monthly subscription costs for competitor Netflix start at 12.99 euros (unless you choose Netflix’s advertising-based subscription for 4.99 euros), but given the significantly smaller range of series and films on offer, Apple TV+ is quite expensive .
Save with account sharing: Apple TV+ Family Sharing and Apple TV+ One
You can save something if you also use other Apple services. The Family or Premium subscription allows you to share your subscription with up to 5 other Apple accounts. In addition to Apple TV+, you also get Apple Music, Apple Arcade, additional iCloud storage space and, in the case of Apple One Premium, Apple Fitness+.

So if you own an iPhone, iPad or other Apple products, Apple One could be worth it for you. If you really find 5 people who want to share the account with you, you will only pay 5.19 euros (One Family) or 6.99 euros (One Premium) for 5 Apple services.
Even without an Apple device, you can use some of the services such as Apple Music or Apple TV+, you just need to create an Apple account.
Account sharing doesn’t actually exist at Apple because every user needs their own Apple ID in order to be able to be added to a family subscription or a premium subscription. But of course you can still share the costs of your account.
Sharing an individual account with others is a little more difficult, as Apple users usually also use their Apple ID for their iCloud etc. So it’s not a good idea to share your Apple ID with others if you don’t want them to have access to all your photos, calendar, and other Apple services.

That’s why an Apple TV+ subscription is worth it
Apple TV+ probably has by far the smallest program compared to Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime Video and Co. At most, you can buy and rent films and series yourself via iTunes or the Apple TV app.
Nevertheless, a subscription to Apple TV+ may be worthwhile for you. All available films and series can only be seen on Apple TV+, so you cannot switch to other services to watch your desired title. The Apple TV+ program contains one or two gems that you shouldn’t miss, such as the critically acclaimed series “Ted Lasso”.
Apple productions also usually impress with top-class actors. On Apple TV+, for example, you can see Tom Hanks in the sci-fi film “Finch,” Harrison Ford in the black comedy “Shrinking,” and the series “Slow Horses,” in which Gary Oldman plays a quirky investigator.
Because of the many options for getting a taste of the Apple TV+ program for free, you can’t really go wrong with a subscription. If you don’t like the selection, you can simply cancel after a week or at the end of your extended free period.
