Apple Vision Pro hasn’t even been released yet: Apple is already working on improvements to Vision Pro 2

APPLE VISION PRO

The successor model to the Apple Vision Pro could optimize two things, as a newsletter reveals. These are the improvements.

A lower weight would be particularly useful if you want to work with the Vision Pro for longer. (Source: Apple)

  • Apple is probably looking for solutions for the Vision Pro’s heavy weight and prescription lenses.
  • In the long term, the weight should be reduced; the first model could have an additional strap.
  • In the future, prescription lenses could no longer be magnetic attachments, but instead be tailored to the user directly during production.

The Vision Pro could set new standards in the VR glasses market segment. However, that doesn’t mean that the manufacturer has delivered a perfect device. Apple may still have some strategies and solutions ready that will solve outstanding problems in the next generation of the headset at the latest.

In the “Power On” newsletter, Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman primarily refers to weight and prescription lenses. At around one pound, the headset is said to be too heavy for some users. In the short term, the manufacturer can probably respond to this with a strap over the head. However, the next model should be a little lighter.

In order to simplify the situation for people who wear glasses, Apple could no longer use lenses from ZEISS that are magnetically attached to the headset in the future. Another solution would be to adapt the lenses to the future user in the factory. However, with this approach there would be problems with both resale and long-term use if the prescription changes.
