This year, Apple wants to surprise with an even larger version of the Apple Watch 8. A new design of this version is now considered safe, but different than expected or hoped for. One of the most well-known Apple insiders is now revealing more.
The existence of an Apple Watch Series 8 “Pro” in size XL with an almost 2-inch display has been in the rumor mill for quite a while. It was still unclear what this would look like in the end. Only the general approach and the positioning as a robust smartwatch for extreme athletes were known.
Apple Watch 8 in XL: New design, but without flat edges
Anyone who thought that they could now discover the flat design that was rumored last year in this XL version of the Apple Watch 8 will be disappointed. According to Apple insider and Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman, that won’t happen. Instead of flat edges or even a round display, Gurman describes the new design as “an evolution of the current rectangular shape”. Still, the difference from the current form will be apparent, as the expert describes the design as the first new design since the launch of the Apple Watch Series 4 in 2018.

But the predictions don’t end there. Far should the Apple Watch in size XL have the following features:
- Case made from a stronger titanium compound.
- Longer battery life, thanks to a new energy-saving mode, a single charge should last for several days.
- Body temperature sensor for fever detection.
The smartwatch sensor revolution comes much later
