Apple’s famous mixed reality headset would have found an exit window, but it won’t take a priori not blink to acquire it.

The Cupertino company would have signed an exclusive partnership with Pegatron for the “mass production” planned for the spring of 2023 of its new product.

Production of Apple’s AR/VR headset becomes a reality

According to a report published on DigiTimes and relayed by MacRumorsApple’s mixed reality headset will indeed be a reality in 2023. Specifically, production of the device is expected to begin in March 2023, with an official announcement by Apple the following April.

For this, the apple brand would have entered into an exclusive partnership with Pegatron, a Taiwanese manufacturing company specializing in computer and electronic equipment. To speak of mass production is, however, an ambitious term, since the ratio of DigiTimes indicates that less than one million devices would enter circulation.

always according to DigiTimes, initial estimates for 2.5 million units have been revised downwards to a range between 700,000 and 800,000 devices. This exclusive agreement will therefore not be so profitable for Pegatron, at least economically. The Taiwanese company should, however, compensate for this shortfall with a significant gain in notoriety by partnering with Apple.

Conflicting information to be taken with a grain of salt

It should be noted that this report of DigiTimes somewhat contradicts another document released last June, by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo this time. This indicated that Apple’s mixed reality headset would be introduced no later than January 2023.

Nevertheless, given the many problems encountered by the firm to develop its mixed reality division, the later seems the most reasonable. The point on which the two reports agree, however, is on a price that looks very high, as also suggested by Mark Zuckerberg.

Given the few weeks that separate us from the beginning of the year 2023, we bet that Apple will soon give signs of life to talk about its intriguing and “revolutionary” new product, if we are to believe the latest reports.
