Apple would take a risk by parting with an iconic color

According to sources from the specialized media 9to5Mac, Apple would no longer offer the “Gold” and “Intense Purple” colors on its iPhone 15 Pro. Instead, new exclusive shades would be on the menu.

We are now almost certain, the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max will rely on a new titanium chassis, lighter and above all more resistant than the stainless steel currently used. For the occasion, however, Apple would take a risk according to 9to5Mac : to separate from the “Gold” color offered as an option on high-end iPhones since the launch of the iPhone XS in 2018. More logically, this withdrawal would also apply to the “Intense Violet” color, exclusive to the iPhone 14 Pro.

Instead, the Cupertino giant would rely on a new titanium finish, gray, which would take up the natural color of this metal in addition to the “traditional” black and silver finishes. We also learn that another color exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro would also be relevant: a dark blue.

iPhone 15 Pro in four colors: black, silver, titanium and blue?

This new dark blue color would in this case be the “special” color of the year. It would thus replace the “Deep Violet”. It is not known, however, if the crimson color (dark red) mentioned by other rumors is still relevant or if it will finally be abandoned for the launch of the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max, expected on September 12. Note that if this is the case, it is not impossible that this reddish hue will finally be adopted as a spring color, Apple having the habit of generally adding an additional color to its range, in the spring, to relaunch the sales.

As for the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus? These should be available this year in five colors: black, green, blue, yellow and pink. Nothing particularly surprising here, Apple being very inclined to offer five or six different colors on its “classic” iPhones since the arrival of the iPhone 11 in 2019.
