Apple’s Mac mini M2 announcement slated for WWDC

The Apple WWDC conference is normally reserved for developers, but two Macs could be unveiled there. According to new rumors, the Mac mini M2 would join the MacBook Air M2 on the front of the stage.

Apple’s future M2 chip is definitely talking about it. Rumors are rife about the announcement of a MacBook Air M2 at the manufacturer’s WWDC in early June, even though this conference would normally be reserved for software announcements of Apple products (iOS, macOS or even watchOS).

Several models are waiting to be renewed

According to brand journalist Mark Gurman, we can expect to see not one, but two Macs presented at this conference. Until now, difficult to know which computer would be put forward, Apple certainly planning a renewal of all its M1 in the more or less long term. If we can rule out too recent 14 and 16-inch MacBook Pros, we still hope for the arrival of a 27-inch iMac, as well as a new Mac Pro, and the continuation of Mac mini, entry-level MacBook Pro and MacBook Air of course.

The Mac mini M2 could be in the game

LeaksApplePro – accustomed to Apple leaks on Twitter – bet like Mark Gurman on a MacBook Air M2, but he adds that it is the Mac mini M2 that will assist him at WWDC, according to his sources. Of course, the information is to be taken with a grain of salt, but that would not be really surprising. A portable model would thus accompany a model desktop with the key to better performance brought by this new in-house chip, but perhaps also a revisited design for the two computers.

What Mac mini Pro version? We saw a few days ago that Apple would be testing an M2 Pro in a Mac mini, but nothing in LeaksApplePro’s tweet suggests such a model is coming. In the same way, a few noises from the corridors have been evoking for several weeks an unpublished MacBook Air in 15 inches, but there again the tracks are thin…

It will therefore be necessary to wait a little more than a month to have the heart net. We will keep you informed of developments relating to this WWDC 2022 in the weeks to come.
