Apple’s MagSafe power bank has never been cheaper on Amazon

[Deal du jour] If you have a latest generation iPhone, the new MagSafe charger is for you. Wireless, the latter will allow you to maintain the autonomy of your device, and to recover a few percentages in passing. A useful accessory which today benefits from a 20 euro reduction.

Initially offered on MacBooks, MagSafe technology is making a comeback on 12th generation iPhones. The Californian firm is bringing its magnetic system up to date in order to offer efficient and unconstrained wireless charging. Here this external battery takes advantage of it, and attaches to your iPhone while keeping your battery charged. Normally, you have to pay full price for this accessory, but Amazon is lowering its price to make it a little more accessible.

Apple’s MagSafe external battery is now discounted at 89 euros on Amazon, against 109 euros usually.

To better understand the offer

  • What is special about Apple’s external battery?

On a day-to-day basis, external batteries can be very useful, but not all of them are as practical as Apple’s. Indeed, its external battery relies on a minimalist and compact design to facilitate recharging on the go. In itself, it’s quite “ordinary”, which is why the Apple brand stands out by offering MagSafe technology.

This technology relies on magnets to keep your iPhone in place. Just clip it onto the magnetic area on the back of the battery, and it doesn’t move once it’s placed. Another good point: your smartphone remains manipulable and it can be used in landscape or portrait mode. You can therefore continue to watch your favorite series, or do a FaceTime without running out of battery. Be aware, however, that only iPhones from the 12th generation are compatible.

  • Is it effective on a daily basis?

It is true that wireless charging may seem less efficient than conventional wired charging, but the MagSafe charger will give your autonomy a little boost. However, its capacity is quite limited (1,460 mAh). This is a backup battery, not a solid solution to accompany you during a long weekend. It manages to bring up to 60% more autonomy for an iPhone 12 or 13.

It will have little interest on other smartphones, including Android, even if it is theoretically functional. You should know that it is sold without any cable. The MagSafe Power Bank offers even faster recharging capability when paired with a 27W or greater charger, such as those that come with MacBooks. And if you need a wireless charger, just plug in a Lightning cable for up to 15W wireless charging.
