A time scheduled for 2022, the launch of the electric car and solar from Aptera has finally been pushed back to 2023. This postponement does not seem to confuse buyers: the company reports having already received more than 22,000 reservations.

To put this quantity in perspective with the previous one, the number of orders stood at 13,000 in October 2021.

$800,000,000 in orders

On the Aptera site dedicated to investors, we learn that these 22,000 reservations ” represent a potential of 800,000,000 dollars “. Note that the minimum price will be $25,900 for a vehicle.

On the production side, our previous Aptera articles mentioned 20,000 vehicles per year starting this year, with a ramp-up over the years. On the site of the Californian company, it is now rather a question of 10,000 copies for the current year.

Regarding the characteristics of the vehicle, the official site announces up to 1,000 miles (about 1,600 km) of autonomy per charge, and 40 miles (65 km) of solar-powered driving per day.

Note that the range of 1000 miles is for the model with the best battery capacity, and the most expensive ($44,900). The $25,900 version will only offer 250 miles of range; the one sold for $29,800, 400 miles; and the $34,600 version will offer 600 miles of range per charge. In addition, the car is able to go from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.5 seconds.
