After a long absence, the 4X from Oxide Games showed up at gamescom to reveal its gameplay. That’s not all he did, sinceAra: History Untold took the opportunity to confirm its release for 2024. Still no precise date, but we know that it will be available on PC via Steam, the Microsoft Store and on the Game Pass. History is only waiting for a leader worthy of it to take over the reins.
The game, not very different from another 4X in the background, however offers a very distinct universe. Each leader brings different bonuses to his people, which he will have to exploit to expand. From there, he must build buildings, instruct his followers, offer them work, develop his city. A balance must be found between the harvest of resources, essential to progress through the ages, and the well-being of its people. The larger and more well exploited the land, the more the population will grow.
But Ara: History Untold, it’s not just exploitation and expansion. You also have to explore the world and overcome the other leaders to win the game. Each action will influence the world, the individuals who are there, and inevitably on the way in which History unfolds. Only one ruler can inherit control of Earth, and it’s best to fight for it to be you.
