ARC Raiders: the ambitious free-to-play TPS of DICE alumni unfortunately postponed

Even before the revelation of his first project, Embark Studios attracted the attention of the industry, whether thanks to its director Patrick Söderlund who came from DICElike a good part of the team, or concept art of an enticing science fiction universe. The announcement ofRCAF Raiders to Game Awards 2021 did not at all scald the curious.

We were indeed able to discover an ambitious GST cooperative in free-to-play putting us face to face with an alien robotic threat, in wide open environments where we will experience explosive games. The experience wants to offer a different approach to online games by infusing its own mechanics and dynamics, and we can’t wait to see how Embark plans to do so.

However, it will be necessary to be more patient than announced to see the concrete. A launch (in Early Access ?) was planned for 2022 on PC via Steam and theEpic Games StorePS5 and Xbox Series X|S, but as the year progresses and no news of the project has been given, ARC Raiders has just been confirmed to be delayed to 2023.

We have made the decision to postpone ARC Raiders to 2023.

ARC Raiders is an ambitious game, and we will use this extra time to expand the experience and allow it to reach its full potential.

We’ll give more details as we start testing the game more thoroughly with players.

The excitement around ARC Raiders since its reveal has been so encouraging to us, and we really appreciate your support.

Never mind, RCAF Raiders won’t be the first project of its kind to be postponed: let’s at least hope that this additional development time allows Embark to achieve its goals.
