Arcane (Netflix): we finally know the release date of season 2

Good news: season 2 of the excellent series Arcana from Netflix is ​​coming. Less good news: we will have to be patient, since it will not be released before fall 2024 on the streaming platform.

The continuation of the adventures of Vi and Jinx

It was as part of Geeked Week – the virtual event which takes stock of its future films, series and games – that Netflix revealed the information. It’s official: season 2 of the series Arcana will be released in November 2024 on the streaming service. A short teaser was released for the occasion:

First images which bring us back to Jinx, one of the heroines of the first season. As a reminder, Arcana tells the story of sisters Vi and Powder, champions of their rival cities, who face off in a war where magical technologies rage.

Adapted from the world of the popular video game League of Legends, the series was a huge public and critical success when it was released in 2021, even becoming the first Netflix series to win the Emmy Award for Best Animated Program, in addition to three other statuettes. At the time, it was the highest-rated Netflix series of all time, topping the charts in 52 countries.

A deserved success, both Arcana is a success in every way, and a real visual slap in the face. Ambitious, generous and inspired, she knew how to transcend the limits of her universe to reach all audiences, even those who have never played League of Legends.

And coincidence: it is produced by the French studio Fortiche, already working on the Marvel series Rocket and Grootand music videos for the groups K/DA and Freak Kitchen.

Arcane was created by Christian Linke and Alex Yee, and directed by Pascal Charrue and Arnaud Delord. The series also stars Hailee Steinfeld (Hawkeye, True Grit), Ella Purnell (Yellowjackets) and Katie Leung (Horizon Zero Dawn) to its vocal cast, who will also return for this anticipated season 2.
