“Arcane” has been one of Netflix’s big surprises in 2021. Until now, we didn’t know when it would return, but here it is: the date is finally set!
With its 100% positive reviews on the Rotten Tomatoes site, the anime series Arcane is one of Netflix’s highest-rated series, even surpassing the famous The Last Of Us – and its Rotten Tomatoes score of 96% – as the best. video game adaptation. And the American-French slap inspired by the League of Legends universe, a big surprise for the end of 2021, will soon (and finally) be back!
Its unpredictable success, Arcane owes it to its sublime animation, its deep characters and its captivating plot full of emotions. With or without previous knowledge of the video game, the spectators were conquered by its beauty, its maturity and its ambition. Thus, given the success achieved, a second season was quickly decided. However, we had not heard from since.
After almost two years of waiting, we now know a little more about this second chapter and unfortunately we will have to wait at least another year for the story to continue. The info was revealed during the Tencent Video V Vision 2024 conference (via FilmStarts): season 2 will be released in the fourth quarter of 2024, three years after season 1.
As a reminder, Arcane depicts the tensions between the wealthy Piltover and the subterranean and insalubrious Zaun, two twin and rival cities located one above the other. Between divided populations and the appearance of new technologies that could change everything, the crisis is intensifying. Within them, Vi and Jinx, are two young women whom everything also opposes, two now foreign sisters sharing the memory of a difficult childhood in Zaun.
While waiting for its big return, season 1 of Arcane is to be reviewed exclusively on Netflix.
