ArcelorMittal: security assessment entrusted to dss+

(CercleFinance.com) – ArcelorMittal announced on Friday that it had entrusted a global security assessment mission to dss+, a specialized external service provider.

When publishing its quarterly results last month, the steelmaker expressed its intention to appoint an independent expert in order to identify possible shortcomings and prevent the occurrence of serious accidents.

The evaluation of dss+ – which will be carried out on the group’s 350 sites – must notably focus on risk analysis and data restitution, with a systemic approach.

At the end of the audit, which should last approximately nine months, the service provider will issue a certain number of recommendations covering the identified areas for improvement, the results of which will be communicated in September 2024.

Following the 22 deaths recorded among the group’s employees last year, including 14 in Kazakhstan, ArcelorMittal has set itself the objective of reaching the level of ‘zero fatal accidents’.
