Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor turns 3: All the details from his life

Happy Birthday Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor! On May 6, 2022, the son of Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry will celebrate his third birthday. Not much is known about the little royal, but every now and then the Sussexes have been able to elicit cute details about their firstborn.

How time flies! It seems as if Duchess Meghan, 40, and Prince Harry, 37, recently competed with their son Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor during their tour of South Africa. But the Sussexes traveled to Cape Town in September 2019, when their son was just four months old. Now Archie already has three candles on his birthday cake – and has already experienced a lot with his parents.

Archie was born on May 6th, 2019 at Portland Hospital in the City of Westminster. Two weeks later, the first pictures of the royal offspring were published. At Windsor Castle, Papa Harry proudly held his son in his arms while Meghan posed smiling next to her husbands. Archie made his first public appearance on the sidelines at a charity polo match in July 2019, which saw Harry and Prince William, 39, compete. A few months later, the little one went to Africa, where he stole the show from his parents.

However, little has been seen of the royal offspring since then, as the Sussexes have left the UK since stepping down as senior royals in January 2020 – in part to seek more privacy. So the Sussexes first went to Canada and finally to Montecito, California, where they have since built a new life.

The first birthdays in the new home

Archie spent his first birthday in his new home, but the celebration is said to have been small due to the corona pandemic. But Harry and Meghan have probably worked hard to give their offspring a wonderful day. That’s how Meghan baked her cute sweetheart a cake, said royal expert Katie Nicholl at the time to the British “OK”. Much to the delight of royal fans, Mama Meghan also posted a sweet video in which she reads a book to the birthday boy. Finally there was a reunion with the Mini-Royal!

At his second cradle party, Harry and Meghan let the public participate again – albeit more subtly. They published a new photo of Archie on the website of their organization Archewell. A sepia shot showed the little one from behind in the grass, holding lots of balloons in his tiny hand. In honor of Archie’s birthday, the Sussexes raised funds to fight for more immunization justice, as the caption to the image explained.

This is how the son of Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry ticks

Although Harry and Meghan have turned their backs on British royals to keep their son safe from the public eye, they have kept revealing a few delightful details about him. At the end of 2020, they often took part in video calls to support their heart projects. During one such appointment, Meghan revealed that the then one-year-old was quite the whirlwind. “We are very lucky with our little one. He is very active and everywhere at the same time. He keeps us on our toes,” she said.

Harry also shared how much they are enjoying their time with Archie and the milestones the Sussex baby had reached by this point: “We were there for his first steps, when he first fell, we saw all the first times. ” After that, it was quiet for a long time about Queen Elizabeth’s great-grandson, 96 – until Duchess Meghan appeared on Ellen DeGeneres’ 64-year-old talk show in November 2021.

During the conversation, a previously unseen picture of Archie was shown, which immediately caused ecstasy. The cute snap was taken during Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan’s interview with Oprah Winfrey, 68, in March 2021. At the time, Meghan revealed they had rescued chickens and have been tending to them in their garden ever since. It quickly became clear: Little Archie also liked it, because in the photo he is getting the eggs from the chicken coop. The bright yellow “Peppa Pig” rubber boots also caught the eye. Archie, who is now said to have a distinct American accent, appears to be a fan of the British animated series of the same name. Incidentally, Meghan also revealed that Archie “loves being a big brother” to his sister Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, 11 months, who was born a few months earlier.

He comes after Papa Harry

The day before Christmas Eve 2021, the Sussexes gave their fans an early holiday gift: they released a Christmas card that was spectacular for a number of reasons. On the one hand they showed their daughter Lilibet to the public for the first time and on the other hand the picture documented how big Archie has grown. The little man now has a curly red head, just like his dad.

The character of the now three-year-old apparently comes after his father. Speaking to Hoda Kotb, 57, from the “Today Show” during the Invictus Games, Prince Harry revealed that Archie often keeps him from working from home. “Archie spends more time interrupting our video calls than anyone,” he reveals, but conceded, “But he also takes us away from them a lot, which is a nice thing.” He inherited his bold demeanor from his son, says Harry: “I always try to keep it that way. I think boldness is something that keeps you alive.”

Little Archie is now three years old. Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry are sure to give him a wonderful day of honor again this year.
