With surprisingly old photos, the entire British royal family congratulates little Archie Mountbatten-Windsor on his second birthday.

Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor was born on May 6, 2019 in London and will celebrate his second birthday this Thursday in the USA, the adopted home of his parents Prince Harry (36) and Duchess Meghan (39). Royal congratulations come in from the old homeland. “We wish Archie Mountbatten-Windsor a happy 2nd birthday”, writes the royal family around Queen Elizabeth II. (95) on the official Instagram account, along with a red balloon.

The photo chosen by the palace as an illustration is surprising, however, because it is almost exactly two years old and shows the official presentation of the new addition to the family two days after his birth in St George’s Hall at Windsor Castle in Windsor.

Prince Charles and Prince William remember the baptism

Next, Prince Harry’s father, Prince Charles, 72, published his congratulations on the Clarence House account. The heir to the throne also posted an old photo on his “Congratulations to Archie, who turns two today”. In the black and white picture that was taken at the christening in July 2019, Papa Harry holds Archie in his arms while Grandpa Charles smiles lovingly at the little one.

Prince William (38) and wife Duchess Kate (39) also congratulate with a photo of Archie’s baptism. On her new Instagram account “dukeandduchessofcambridge” they show a group photo in which the new parents are sitting on a sofa with baby Archie in the middle. Around them you can see William, Harry, Charles and his wife Duchess Camilla (73) as well as Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland (64). “We wish Archie Mountbatten-Windsor a happy 2nd birthday,” write William and Kate about the photo, adding a red balloon and a birthday cake.

Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan resigned from all royal duties more than a year ago and have lived in California ever since. The couple, who have been married since 2018, are expecting their second child.
