Silvio Berlusconi, former Italian Prime Minister with a sulphurous personality, died on Monday June 12 at the age of 86 following leukemia. In 2013, he gave an exceptional interview to Europe 1, his first to a French media after his ousting from the Italian Senate. Relive this moment on Europe 1.

Silvio Berlusconi, the media magnate who ruled Italy for nine years, died at the age of 86 from leukemia, his entourage told AFP on Monday. 10 years ago, he gave an exceptional interview to Europe 1 after his ouster from the Italian Senate. During this interview, the first granted to a French media, Silvio Berlusconi affirmed it: “I am still full of life”. To the question “does Silvio Berlusconi still exist?”, the former Italian head of government replies: “I am here, I am still at work, I am still full of life and I find that your request, c is ill-posed”.

This ouster from the Italian Senate was caused by the “Rubygate” scandal for which he was finally acquitted in 2014 after a first instance sentence of seven years in prison. A case in which the “Cavaliere” was suspected of having paid a young girl, then a minor, for sex with her.
