Archos sharply widens its losses in 2021 – 03/18/2022 at 18:13

(AOF) – Archos has unveiled a net loss of 9.25 million euros for the 2021 financial year compared to -3.10 million euros for the 2020 financial year. The operating result of the large electronics specialist public followed the same path, going from -2.2 million euros to -4.2 million euros between 2020 and 2021. Turnover fell by 32% to 15.4 million euros.

“This decrease is mainly due to the Covid crisis, the effects of which continued into 2021: supply difficulties in China with increased production times and higher component prices; reduction in the market for consumer tablets and reduction in sales from Logic Instrument in Germany,” the company explained.

Net cash stood at €15.96 million, up €7 million over the period.

The company does not rule out carrying out external growth operations if these are likely to accelerate its development program.

The Middle East ESC

Still relatively unknown compared to the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the Gitex (Gulf Information Technology Exhibition) in Dubai has existed since 1981 and attracts around 100,000 visitors a year. Even if it wants to compete with the CES in Las Vegas, and the region is a very tech-savvy market, the Gitex remains, despite its internationalization, still a regional hub for technology. The CES makes it possible to cover the United States, North America and Europe at the same time, while the Gitex rather covers the Middle East, Africa and South Asia. In 2021 this event took place at the same time as the Universal Exhibition in Dubai. France was the second most represented country, behind Italy.
