Fritz Wepper and Janina Hartwig delighted an audience of millions with “Um Himmels Willen”. The last episode of the ARD series ran on Tuesday evening.
On Tuesday evening an era came to an end: In Germany, the last episode “Um Himmels Willen” flickered across the screens. The series with Fritz Wepper (79) and Janina Hartwig (60) in the leading roles started in the first in 2002 – after 260 episodes it is now over. According to an official press release by ARD, around 4.44 million people tuned into the series finale despite the strong football competition; a market value of 15.3 percent.
Series had “cult status”

The last episode showed the re-election of Mayor Wöller (Wepper), the rescue of the Kaltenthal monastery and culminated in an exciting show finale.
