are we going towards long confinement?

The suspense is still at its height regarding a possible confinement. And if the opinions of the medical profession diverge, the idea of a long containment begins to gain the spirits.

It already exists locally in the municipalities of Nice and Dunkirk: confinement is slowly making a comeback. And the question arises everywhere in France: are we going to be re-defined? If so, where and for how long? The medical profession seems divided, but some health specialists believe that the 6 p.m. curfew has had a positive effect in slowing the spread of the coronavirus and its many variants. On France Inter on March 1, 2021, professor member of the scientific council Yazdan Yazdanpanah, however, believed that the hypothesis of confinement cannot be ruled out.

"The curfew has had an impact (…), but in a number of areas it is not enough", considers the professor. We have to go further, but how far? There is not just one type of containment possible. We can consider, as in March, total containment. Or, as in November, a lockdown with schools that remain open. There is also the possibility of extending confinement elsewhere on weekends.

According to Professor Yazdanpanah, it seems wise to consider measures at the regional or departmental level. No clear answer at this stage, therefore, but prospects, pending the decisions that the government wishes to announce on March 6, 2021, in view of the evolution of the situation in the departments in enhanced vigilance.
