The Galaxy S23 is not expected until the beginning of February, but at CES 2023 Samsung is already giving us a first glimpse of the new top smartphone. The subsidiary Samsung Display is showing a new OLED panel that is said to achieve a brightness of up to 2,000 nits.

It is intended for use in smartphones and is likely to be used in the South Korean manufacturer’s next top smartphone. Corresponding rumors were already circulating on the Internet in mid-November 2022.

The Galaxy S22 reached a maximum brightness of 1,750 nits. A strong value, because the successor with the new display would surpass it. But this would not be a new record. The iPhone 14 Pro already has a correspondingly bright display, which ironically is also produced by Samsung. Higher brightness values improve the readability of the display – especially outdoors.
