On the set of France 2, Faustine Bollaert received Fiona Gélin, the French actress aged 61 years old and his companion Richard, a musician who 19 years younger than her. The couple met in Saint-Tropez, while the musician was singing. Complicity quickly developed between them.
“It was like a kindred spirit of friendship,” explains Fiona Gélin. And the cherry on the cake, Richard doesn’t know the actress, despite her notoriety. A detail that pleases the actress from the outset. “I have a little trouble with men who start ‘Ah you have been my fantasy’, I’ve heard that all my life and I like it when people don’t know who I am”, she explains.

And it wasn’t their age difference that was the problem but Fiona Gélin’s addictions. Indeed, at that time the actress was an alcoholic and had a bad penchant for rum.

On the set of It starts today, Richard explains that Fiona Gélin’s addictions were something that repelled him. And especially because one of his best friends committed suicide after suffering greatly from his alcoholism. “I don’t want any more problems like that in my life,” explains Richard. When he meets Fiona Gélin, he is wary of this addiction and warns her: “Fiona, you’re destroying yourself and I don’t like it.”
