This Tuesday, February 14 not only marks the feast of love but also an extension of the bonus of 100 euros put in place by the government. News that should delight the millions of eligible French people who have not yet claimed it.

As of January 16, French people who meet certain conditions can receive the fuel allowance worth 100 euros. This boost from the State is one of the many measures put in place by the government to help households cope with the overall increase in the cost of living. Indeed, while the purchasing power of consumers is strongly impacted by increases in the prices of fuel but also of many consumer foods or even electricity, it sometimes becomes difficult to make ends meet.

The fuel allowance is therefore one of the solutions proposed by the State to improve the purchasing power of households. Good news for latecomers who have not yet taken the necessary steps to receive the fuel bonus, the government has just announced its extension until March. Individuals who meet the eligibility criteria therefore still have the possibility of receiving this financial boost.

This state aid is reserved for a part of the population that meets several criteria. To be eligible for the fuel bonus, you must use your vehicle to travel between your home and your place of work. Households with a high level of income cannot apply for this aid. For a single person, it is necessary not to earn more than 1314 euros net per month in order to be eligible. The amount not to be exceeded is €3,941 for a couple with two children. To note, if the members of the couple each use a different vehicle to get to work, then the amount of the fuel bonus is €200. If you have any doubts about your eligibility for this aid, you can go to the tax website to perform a simulation.

People eligible for the fuel allowance simply go to the impots.gouv.fr website and complete the dedicated form. Bring your car registration document and your reference tax income which appears on your 2022 income tax return for 2021. You now have until March 31, 2023 to make the request. An extension justified by the government when only 3.3 million French people received the fuel bonus. Too little known by fellow citizens, this device is actually aimed at more than 6 million French people.
