Microsoft which is pushing hard, we are starting to know. The firm has been campaigning for years to convince Windows users to use its own browser, Microsoft Edge, instead of competitor Google Chrome. Without much success, it must be admitted.

But Microsoft’s other major project is to upgrade you to Windows 11. The latest version of its operating system will celebrate its 3rd anniversary in October, when the major 24H2 update is expected. With 2/3 of its users still on Windows 10, the company has obviously not finished trying to convince you.

For Microsoft, switching to Windows 11 “makes everyday life easier”

In a new ad published on YouTube, Microsoft highlights what it considers to be the best version of Windows. Entitled “starting from scratch without starting over with Windows 11,” the video extols the merits of the OS and especially the ease of transition from another version of Windows.

But the most questionable claim in this video concerns the Start menu and its ability to find any file faster. By abandoning the list of programs and offering a search tool with frankly perfectible indexing, this new menu was clearly the most controversial change in Windows 11.

However, it must be admitted that the system has greatly improved since then, whether in terms of performance or its interface. Thus, all native Windows applications were transformed last year, with a little AI boost, while it is now possible to lighten your system more easily, Bluetooth management promises to be simplified and players will be able to take advantage of DLSS integrated into the system.

The 2025 deadline is approaching

But the road will still be long to convince a very large part of its users. Microsoft plans to stop support for Windows 10 on October 14, 2025 and is currently working hard on its seduction operation.

Recently, the latest Windows 10 update encouraged users to upgrade to Windows 11 for free and regularly displays reminders to make the transition, whether notifications or even interstitial screens.

But the road will be long when we see that Windows 11 has barely gained a few percent over the last two years. At this rate, don’t expect Windows 12 just yet.
