With its transparency effects, its widgets and its radically new look compared to Windows XP, Windows Vista had a certain charm despite its many flaws. If you are also of this opinion, the Windows Vista Edition 2022 concept could have a certain effect on you.

A walking disaster when it launched, Windows Vista has a reputation for being one of the worst versions of Windows when it comes to stability and performance. It is also, still to this day, one of the biggest flops in the history of Microsoft. The OS was however one of the most successful aesthetically speaking, with its share of new animations, its slick design, its widgets and its pretty transparency effects. Qualities which today earn him a fine tribute through Windows Vista Edition 2022, a conceptual revival of the system launched by Microsoft in 2007.

Fluent meets Aero »

A bit like what Windows 7 offered, Windows Vista 2022 aims to show us what the look of Windows Vista could give without its flaws. And in this case, it’s the entire Aero design of the OS that has been reconstituted to be based on Windows 11. Clearly, we end up with a version of Windows 11 highly customized to take up the features of Windows Vista as well as some of its flagship features.

We let you discover the presentation video which gives a nice overview of the concept and leaves behind a furious desire to see it (one day perhaps) come to fruition.

A simple concept… without a project behind it (unfortunately)

Because, you will have understood, this concept is simply a vision of what the aesthetics of Windows Vista could give once mixed with the technical basis of Windows 11. Nothing more, and it is indeed a shame. Do not expect to see the arrival of an ISO containing the content presented in the video, it is not planned. We will have to be content with the new aesthetics announced by Microsoft for Windows 11.

For its part, the firm is starting to talk more and more about Mica. This new design is already beginning to influence Microsoft’s aesthetic choices for Windows 11. In the future, the latter should therefore adopt an even more refined and sober look, much to the chagrin of those who appreciated the baroque refinement (at least, according to the 2022 criteria) of Windows Vista.
