Sophia Thomalla presents the second season of "Are You The One?". Here are five facts you need to know about the host.

From January 21st, the search for the "perfect match" will continue in double episodes for 20 new singles. In "Are You The One?" (TVNow) they need to find their right partners. If they are successful, together they will win 200,000 euros. The dating show is moderated in the second season by Sophia Thomalla (31). In addition to moderation, Thomalla has already gained experience in many other areas of show business.

Famous mother

Sophia Thomalla was born in 1989 in East Berlin as the daughter of the actors Simone Thomalla (55) and André Vetters (61), who were married from 1991 to 1995. Simone Thomalla in particular is known to TV viewers as the "crime scene" investigator and in the leading role of the village helper Katja Baumann in the ZDF film series "Spring". Sophia Thomalla grew up partly in Cologne, but moved back to Berlin with her mother and later to Gelsenkirchen, where she was in a relationship with football legend Rudi Assauer (1944-2019) from 2000 to 2009. From 2007 to 2009 Sophia Thomalla attended the Constantin School for Drama, Dance and Singing in Bochum and thus paved her career in film and television.

Diverse careers

She got her first TV role in the ARD crime series "Commissario Laurenti". This was followed by roles in "Eine wie keine", "Der Bergdoktor" or "The last bull". In 2020 she was seen in the Netflix film "Betonrausch". Thomalla not only tried out acting. In 2009 she applied for an open casting for the ProSieben model show "Germany's next top model", but dropped out in the first round. In 2010 it worked better on an RTL show: she won "Let's Dance" with dance partner Massimo Sinató (40). In 2012 she had herself photographed for the German edition of "Playboy". She moderated ProSieben shows such as the Wok World Cup or the "TV total Stock Car Crash Challenge", and in 2015 she led Gunther Emmerlich (76) through the Semper Opera Ball in Dresden.

Short marriage

Aside from her career, Thomalla made headlines with the men by her side. She made her relationship with goalkeeper Lorius Karius (27) public in January 2019. Before that, she was in a relationship with the Rammstein singer Till Lindemann (58) from 2011 to 2015. She was married to the Norwegian singer Andy LaPlegua (45) from March 2016, in May 2017 she announced the divorce of the short marriage. From 2017 she was in a relationship with the British musician Gavin Rossdale (55).

Political attitude

Sophia Thomalla has been a member of the CDU since 2012. On Instagram, she speaks openly about her attitude towards the party. After Armin Laschet (59) was elected chairman in mid-January 2021, she wrote in a post: "As a CDU member, I am satisfied, but Merz was my real favorite. His confident manner, his clear statements and ideas awaken my thoughts : I would perhaps like to see an economics minister Merz. " Thomalla is known for her clear and provocative words on social media. In an RTL interview in 2018, she said that she would post what she would like. "People have to cope with that, or not. Sporting ambitions

Thomalla played kickboxing for a long time in her spare time and played some amateur fights as a teenager. In 2020 the model discovered his passion for weight training. In an RTL interview in November, Thomalla stated that she simply no longer felt like the "flabby skinny look". At that time she had already gained ten kilograms of muscle mass.
