Area tripled – land fund bought ten hectares of land as a precaution

Only around twelve percent of the land area in Tyrol can be used as settlement and economic space. The Tiroler Bodenfonds has set itself the goal of developing the scarce resource in the best possible way together with the communities. This year around 100,000 square meters of land were purchased. A large part of the space should serve the development of future generations, says LR Tratter.

The Tiroler Bodenfonds (TBF) implements forward-looking residential construction projects and municipal industrial areas in close cooperation with the municipalities – mainly across municipalities. “Regional industrial parks have shown that cross-community cooperation is often the key to success. The primary goal of the TBF is to provide inexpensive space for businesses and to create and secure jobs in the region, “explains Alexander Erhart, Managing Director of the Tiroler Bodenfonds. Three residential and five commercial projects started.” The Tiroler Bodenfonds has proven to be effective Instrument of active spatial planning and established as a strong partner of the Tyrolean municipalities ”, says regional planning judge Hannes Tratter. “This year, the land fund was able to expand its activities across Tyrol.” This year, eight more projects – including three residential and five commercial projects – were launched in six districts. In total, around 97,500 square meters of floor space were acquired for the development of projects – around three times as much much like the average for the previous ten years. “A large part of the acquired land should not be built on directly, but kept ready and serve the development and development of future generations,” emphasizes the TBF.
