The real-life version of Disney’s “Ariel, the Mermaid” has a start date: the live-action remake celebrates its premiere in May 2023.
The start date for the live-action remake of Disney’s “Ariel, the Mermaid” has been found: The real-life version will be shown in US cinemas for the first time on Memorial Day weekend 2023, on May 26th. This is reported, among other things, by “The Hollywood Reporter”.
These stars should play along
Newcomer Halle Bailey (21) will play the main role of Arielle, while actor Jonah Hauer-King (26) will play Prince Eric. Comedy star Melissa McCarthy (51, “Bridal Alert”) plays the sea witch Ursula. Rapper and actress Awkwafina (33, “Ocean’s 8”) takes on the role of Seagull Scuttle. Child star Jacob Tremblay (14, “Raum”) lends his voice to Fisch Fabius. And Oscar winner Javier Bardem (52, “Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar’s Revenge”) is said to be on board as King Triton. Rob Marshall (60, “Into the Woods”) is the director.
It is not yet known when the remake of “Arielle, the Mermaid” will be released in German cinemas.
