Originally deployed in June 2015, just seven years ago, Ark: Survival Evolved is now getting a second life. While DLCs were (and still are) released fairly regularly, the survival game filled with dinosaurs and other sometimes mythical creatures is finally available for free for a very limited time. The opportunity for a whole panel of players to access this essential of the genre!
Where and when to get Ark for free?
The offer is surprising and will probably interest many: until Sunday, June 19, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. (Paris time), Ark: Survival Evolved is available for free in its entirety. This offer takes place even though a brand new update entitled Fjordur was deployed this Sunday, June 12, 2022. This one is also completely free and includes famous elements from Scandinavian mythology, Mjolnir or Fenrir for example (which you can tame by the way!).
Ark: What’s next?
Following the announcement of this incredible offer, the developers of Ark revealed their plans for the coming months. This was in particular the opportunity for them to unveil Ark 2, the second opus of the franchise on which they are working tirelessly so that it can be deployed in 2023. The one which is already announced as “the revival of the Survival genre” will run under Unreal Engine 5, Epic’s latest graphics engine, and will notably allow console gamers to fully mod their game to their liking.
If we know both little and a lot about it, Ark 2 has nevertheless already been announced as available in Early Access from 2023 on PC (via the Steam platform), while it will be an exclusive Xbox series X| S console side. This new game will of course be available in the Xbox Game Pass as soon as it is released, both on Xbox and PC!
Finally, and not least, the Ark animated series continues on its merry way. There again, nothing too bombastic to announce, except that at present 14 episodes of about thirty minutes each are in post-production. Several promotional images have already been unveiled with their effigy, but no release date: we will have to be a little bit patient!
Ark seems to be in good hands and has a very promising future. While waiting for the second opus and the animated series, don’t forget: you only have until Sunday, June 19, 2022 at 10 a.m. to get Ark: Survival Evolved for free!
