(CercleFinance.com) – Arkema, together with a consortium of Spanish companies, is exploring and advancing the recyclability of post-consumer PET (bottles and other plastic items) to recover monomers for reuse as raw materials for the market coatings.

This coating process is optimized to produce ‘a very high quality finish while using minimal energy, waste and time’, the company notes. In addition, the powder that does not end up on the finished product can be collected and recycled, reused.
