EDF’s board of directors on Wednesday postponed the signing of the government investment decision (GID) negotiated between EDF and the British government relating to the construction of a pair of EPR nuclear reactors at Sizewell, in Suffolk, we learned from five sources familiar with the matter.
The subject had been put on the agenda by the CEO of EDF, Jean-Bernard Lévy. But the representatives of the State were against, and the subject was de facto challenged by the Council without there having been a vote. Contacted, EDF management did not wish to confirm. The British government for its part validated the project on July 20.

“The French government has indicated that it will not implement the Sizewell agreement in the agreed manner, within the planned timetable”, indicates a source close to the case.
