Shortly before 3 p.m. on Monday, the robber stormed into the Raiffeisen bank in La Sarraz VD and threatened the employees present with a gun. When he was still unable to get hold of any loot, he left the branch and tried his luck in a nearby coop.
There the robber threatened two customers and two employees. He forced her to lie down on the floor, as the cantonal police in Vaud wrote in a message. So the man got hold of cash and fled towards the Jura on a bike.
Perpetrators still on the run
A police search party, sniffer dogs, patrols on motorcycles and a helicopter searched for the armed robber. Until late in the evening – without success.
The police is now looking for witnesses. The man had a European appearance, was wearing a hygienic mask and a black cap. According to the police, the people he threatened are in shock, but they are uninjured. The investigation is ongoing. (hah)
