(Reuters) – Explosions tore through a fireworks warehouse in a shopping center in the Armenian capital Yerevan on Sunday, killing one person and injuring more than 50, Russian news agencies reported.
Footage shows a thick cloud of smoke rising above the building, before an explosion sounded, prompting people to flee the scene.
The Armenian Health Ministry said via Telegram that the number of injured was 57, of whom 20, however, have already been discharged from hospital. One person has died, the Ministry of Emergencies said.
The reason why the fireworks went off is not immediately known.
