Armie Hammer lost his last acting job. He gave up his engagement on Broadway “for the good of his family”.

Armie Hammer (34) recently lost his last upcoming film project in the Hollywood dream factory. And his engagement as a theater actor on Broadway is the star against whom rape allegations are in the room, now going. As reported by the industry magazine “Variety”, Hammer ended his participation in “The Minutes” on his own initiative. Although he “loved every second of being part of the cast”, the current situation does not allow this any longer.

“Variety” quotes from the statement: “I now have to focus on myself and my health for the well-being of my family. As a result, I will not be returning to Broadway for the production.” From the team behind the play it is said: “We only wish him the best and respect his decision.”

No more projects

It was previously announced that the last Hollywood project still to come had turned away from Hammer in the form of the thriller “Billion Dollar Spy” by Amma Asante (51) – with Mads Mikkelsen (55, “Hannibal”). With the retreat from Broadway, the fallen star’s schedule is now finally empty. However, he can still be seen in the already shot film “Death on the Nile”, which was postponed to February 10, 2022 due to the corona pandemic.

Earlier this year, several women had reported allegations against Hammer on social media, including allegations that Hammer allegedly had a cannibalistic fetish. In mid-March, a former partner accused him at a press conference of raping her for several hours in 2017. Hammer strongly rejects the allegations and published screenshots of text messages that are supposed to prove that the alleged victim of abuse had sent the actor explicit sexual messages until mid-2020 and wanted to meet him again. The Los Angeles Police Department has already started an investigation.
