It’s today that comes out Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicona new installment in the franchise of FromSoftware which will have made the heyday of the Japanese studio before the souls. The big robots are out, the editor bandai namco shares two videos for the occasion, starting with a big recap of the game :

If you ever have no idea what you’re talking about Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon, don’t panic, the video above summarizes everything you need to know before embarking on this explosive adventure. The developers also make the point right here:

A strange substance has been discovered on the remote planet Rubicon 3. As a source of energy, it could have enabled incredible advances in technology and communication, but it caused a huge firestorm that ravaged the planet and surrounding stars, leaving a flaming solar system in its wake. Nearly half a century later, the substance has resurfaced on Rubicon 3. The now-contaminated planet has been off limits since the disaster, but companies from other planets and resistance groups are fighting to his control. Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon immerses players in a devastated world which they will infiltrate as independent mercenaries. They will enter into a struggle for the mysterious substance against the corporations and other independent factions.

  • Dynamic and multi-directional battles – Players will battle enemies from all directions as they fly through the air with the addition of high-powered boosters to their mechs. They will be able to use a boost jump, hover in the air, and do an assault boost to quickly close in on their enemies. They will also take advantage of the maneuverability of their machines to quickly switch from ranged to melee combat and exploit every weakness of their enemies to triumph.
  • Highly mobile and highly customizable mechas – The best way to succeed in Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon is finding the right mech mods for each mission. It will be necessary to tinker with the very many parts that can fit in one of the four weapon slots but also the modifiable elements of the head, arms, legs, torso, boosters and all the other parts of the mecha to overcome challenges.
  • A whole new storyArmored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon is a completely independent story, with no connection to the rest of the series. The game’s single-player campaign features a narrative experience with multiple branches and multiple alternate endings for players to experience.
  • Grand challenges on Rubicon 3 – With FromSoftware’s own challenging gameplay, players will be able to seek glory by reaching the maximum rating in single-player missions, taking on NPCs in 1v1 combat in the Arena to unlock mech parts, or challenging others players online in 1v1 or 3v3 battles.
