Away with the hairs! Because bikini and spaghetti straps top look great only to stubble-free skin. This is how armpits grow properly!

Hair under the armpits not only look ugly, but can be a real odor problem, especially during sports or in summer. A popular method to remove underarm hair is next to the armpit shaving , the  epilation or  laser hair removal , the waxing . How exactly this works, what you should pay attention to when growing up and what are the pros and cons – we’ll tell you!

Armpits grow: pros and cons

Wax removal, like any other method, has advantages and disadvantages. Which are these, you will learn here:

  • For waxing you do not have to be a beautician. This method can be done professionally in the studio or at home with warm wax or cold wax strips. That saves time and money.
  • You want smooth shoulders for as long as possible? Then the hair removal by wax is perfect for you. Because the result lasts for a period of three to four weeks compared to shaving . Only then will the armpit hair begin to grow back.
  • The wax or the sugar paste surrounds each armpit hair, without sticking to the skin. Therefore, skin irritation or redness under the armpits is rare . This makes this method of hair removal particularly skin-friendly.
  • For waxing, however, the hair must be at least three millimeters long . As long as you have to deal with visible stubble. This method is therefore not for summery days.
  • The armpits are among the more sensitive areas of the body. The removal of armpit hair with wax can therefore be associated with pain .
  • Sport and sauna after waxing must be avoided. Otherwise, there is a high risk of infection or inflammation .

Armpits grow – in three steps

  1. First prepare the skin for waxing. Wash your pelvis and dust off if necessary.
  2. Now heat the wax in a water bath or in the microwave. Make sure that the wax is not too hot. Too high temperatures can irritate the skin or cause burns. Test the temperature on the back of the hand before use.
  3. Now apply the wax to the skin with a spatula and cover with a fabric or non-woven strip, allow to cool briefly and remove the wax with a quick jerk against the direction of growth. Important: Do not remove the strip vertically at a 45-degree angle, but stay close to the skin and pull it upwards. This reduces the pain and the risk of injury.

Hair removal with wax – even more tips!

  • For a better result: When removing the wax strip, tighten the skin a little with your hand .
  • For sensitive skin, remove the fleece better in the direction of growth . This not only minimizes redness, but also the risk of ingrown underarm hair.
  • Remove wax residue on the skin with baby oil .
  • If not all hairs have been caught, only then grow their shoulders again when the armpit hairs have reached the minimum length .
  • After waxing use a deodorant without aluminumand alcohol . The perfume substances contained therein can otherwise penetrate into small injuries and cause inflammation.
