Arnold Schwarzenegger commemorates his deceased bodybuilder role model Dave Draper with touching words on Instagram.
American bodybuilder, actor and author Dave Draper has died at the age of 79. According to “TMZ”, his wife Laree Draper announced this. His colleague and friend Arnold Schwarzenegger (74) reacted to this news with great sadness. The superstar published an old picture on Instagramshowing Draper and him as competitors in a bodybuilding competition.
Schwarzenegger wrote: “Dave Draper was an inspiration to millions of people around the world, including me. He was one of my idols.” In his Austrian homeland, “Arnie” had a picture of Draper on the wall above his bed – “as a motivation”. Draper’s career from strength athlete to actor also gave him hope that his “dreams can come true”.
He landed “in heaven”
Schwarzenegger further recalls: “When I arrived in America and finally met Dave in person, I found that his heart was as big as his pecs.” When he was allowed to train with Draper a little later and went on tour, he was “in heaven”. “I will miss the blonde bomber, but I will always carry his memory with me.”
