There is no end to the Tennengau traffic chaos! Frustrated residents are now closing the center of Gollingen for the first time.
The authority’s approval is still pending, but it is probably only a formality. “We’re taking to the streets,” says Franziska Wagner. The Golling pharmacist is now getting serious. She is organizing a demonstration for Friday in the traffic-plagued town of Tennengau. “Nothing is happening, there are only empty promises,” complains Wagner. As reported, the months-long renovation of several tunnels on the Tauern Autobahn (A10) between Golling andwerfen is leading to massive traffic disruptions almost every day. And not just on the A10. Drivers also need a lot of patience on the alternative routes through the towns. Shortly before the New Year, the mayors of Golling and Kuchl even wrote a letter of complaint to State Councilor Stefan Schnöll (ÖVP), complete with strong words. “We haven’t heard anything since,” Wagner is disappointed. The people of Gollinger took to the streets together in the summer of 2021 – at that time they were protesting against the annual summer traffic jams through the town.
