Taliban are said to be holding three British citizens

The British Foreign Office is trying to establish contact with three British nationals in Afghanistan. They are said to be being held by the Taliban – two of them probably for months. According to an organization, the arrest is said to be a misunderstanding.

According to an aid organization, three British citizens are being held in Afghanistan by the radical Islamic Taliban who rule the country. The Presidium Network organization said on Twitter that it was working closely with the families of two of those arrested. The British Foreign Office said it was working to “establish consular contacts with British nationals held in Afghanistan”.

Two of those arrested are believed to have been held by the Taliban since January, and the duration of the arrest of the third was initially unclear. According to media reports, the men are a doctor working for an aid organization, the manager of an accommodation facility for development workers and a traveler known on the YouTube video platform.

Presidium Network tweeted that the Taliban should release the men. Your arrest is probably based on a misunderstanding. Scott Richards of the Presidium Network told Sky News that his organization found the men were “in good condition” and being treated well, with no evidence of torture or other ill-treatment.
