Arrest in the Haut-Rhin of a minor, suspected of preparing an attack

A teenager under the age of 15, suspected of being committed to the Islamic State group’s theses and of preparing “violent action”was arrested Tuesday morning in Rosenau (Haut-Rhin) by investigators from the General Directorate of Internal Security (DGSI), AFP learned from a source familiar with the matter.

“As part of its intelligence work”the DGSI had “detected” the profile of this minor under the age of 15, “obviously committed to the theses of the Islamic State”we added from the same source, confirming information from Alsace and Parisian.

“He was determined to make explosives”we continued, pointing out that the searches still in progress had already shown that he had made them. “The investigations will now have to establish whether there was an associated action plan and at what stage it was”we completed.

The investigators intervened in the context of a preliminary investigation opened by the National Anti-Terrorist Prosecutor’s Office (PNAT) for “criminal terrorist criminal association”, according to the Parisian. The teenager was arrested at his home early Tuesday morning in Rosenau, a town of 2,400 inhabitants.
