Arrest – Liechtenstein customs find 770,000 euros in flowers

Customs officials found a lot of counterfeit money at the Ruggell border crossing between Vorarlberg and the Principality of Liechtenstein. Two men were arrested.

That probably didn’t go as planned: when entering Liechtenstein from Vorarlberg, two men (57 and 58 years old) were stopped at the Ruggell border crossing. The customs officials also checked the car of the two EU citizens – and promptly found what they were looking for: the two had no less than 770,000 euros in counterfeit money with them. The officials confiscated the flowers, the police investigation is in full swing. The two suspects were arrested, the public prosecutor’s office decides whether to impose pre-trial detention.
