Arrest takes place – series of robberies from Bregenz well clarified

Two brutal robberies on supermarkets in Bregenz had kept Vorarlberg in suspense in August. Now, just under a month later, the Vorarlberg State Criminal Police Office was able to report a breakthrough in the investigation. A suspect who is credited with both raids has been arrested.

After extensive investigations and trace evaluations, the State Criminal Police Office, with the help of several police stations in Vorarlberg, was able to obtain an arrest order against a suspect from the Feldkirch public prosecutor’s office. The 36-year-old man from Bregenz with several criminal records is urgently suspected of attacking a grocery store in the Bregenz Achsiedlung on August 14 and another supermarket on August 27 on Landstrasse in Bregenz.

The suspect is a drug addict and was arrested last weekend by the Cobra commando at his home address. He confessed that he had committed the two robberies to finance his drug addiction and was in the meantime brought to the Feldkirch prison by order of the public prosecutor’s office.
