Arrow Lake Core Ultra 200 processors will be 20% faster according to this benchmark

We finally know what to expect from the performance of Intel’s next generation Arrow Lake-S chips, which will directly succeed Raptor Lake, the 14th generation series.

On Chinese social media, users have spotted what appear to be benchmark results from one of Intel’s upcoming Arrow Lake-S chips. Its name has not been specified, but it is already known that it will be the series succeeding Raptor Lake and its Core i9-14900KS.

This series promises to mark a turning point at Intel since it will definitively put an end to the Core “i”, to make way for the Core Ultra. The chip spotted is therefore potentially the future Intel Core Ultra 245K, a Core Ultra 265K or even the high-end Core Ultra 285K.

Intel’s Core Ultra 200s promise to be faster, but not everywhere

Intel’s new processor reportedly reaches a score of 1143 points on the CPU-Z benchmark on one coreor an h20% more compared to the best processors of the current generation. In comparison, an Intel Core i9-14900KS scores around 913 points, and a Core i9-14900K scores around 914 points.

The problem is that while the CPU may seem much faster on one core, this is not the case on all cores. In multicore, Arrow Lake CPU doesn’t even reach current-gen scores. It only gets 12,299 points, much less than some Core 7s, so it might not be the processor with the most cores in the series.

As a reminder, the Arrow Lake series is scheduled for Q3 of this year, so the release is fast approaching. Intel will likely give us more information about them at the IFA show in Berlin at the end of the year.

In addition to ditching Intel’s legendary Core “i” name, this will also likely be the generation that will no longer be compatible with DDR4 RAM sticks. You will therefore have to spend a few dozen euros more to afford the new, faster DDR5 memories. We will of course keep you informed as soon as we learn more.
