On the occasion of the broadcast of the film Arthur 3: War of the Two Worlds on Sunday August 21, 2022, from 9:05 p.m. on TFX, Télé Star explains why Luc Besson shot the last two parts of his trilogy at the same time.
After broadcasting Arthur and the Invisiblesthen Arthur and the Revenge of Maltazard, TFX will complete its programming devoted to Luc Besson’s cult trilogy, by broadcasting Arthur 3: War of the Two Worlds Sunday August 21, 2022, from 9:05 p.m. Released in cinemas in 2010, this feature film, always worn by Freddie Highmore and mia farrowwas at the time the third most expensive French film in history, with a production budget of 68.83 million euros. It was thus ranked just ahead of the previous opus of the trilogywhich had hit theaters just a year earlier.
In this 3rd movie, Maltazard has managed to rise in the men’s world. He wants to form an army of giant minions to impose his rule. Only Arthur, always embodied by Freddie Highmore, seems able to counter it. But he is still stuck in the Minimoys world and cannot return to his usual size. However, he can count on the help of Selenia and Bétamèche, but also on the surprising support of Darkos, Maltazard’s own son, who seems to want to change sides. If the last two opuses of Luc Besson’s trilogy were released in cinemas only a year apart, it’s because the filmmaker shot them simultaneously.
Arthur 3, the War of the two worlds: simultaneous filming because of Freddie Highmore
The director made this choice because he wanted to prevent actor Freddie Highmore from growing too conspicuously between the two films. For the anecdote, the voices of certain animated characters of the cinematographic saga have evolved between the first and the last film. In original version, it is Selena Gomez who lends her voice to Sélénia, succeeding Madonna. On the other hand, the animator Jimmy Fallon resumes for his part a new the role of Bétamèche. On his side, Lou Reed takes the place of david bowie by lending his voice to the character of Malthazard. Regarding the French version, Mylène Farmer and Cartman remain faithful to the post.
